A Message from Pastor John

I am so glad you’re exploring Harrington Baptist Church by visiting our website. The website is designed to introduce our core beliefs, explain our gathering times and what to expect upon arrival, provide directions, share our ministries, and give a little background on our staff.

We are a warm and welcoming congregation in the heart of Harrington, Delaware. A good jumping in point is to join us on Sunday mornings. We have a hot breakfast beginning at 9:15 AM before our 10:00 AM worship service. Another good first step would be to stop by on a Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM for fellowship, prayer and Bible study.

The people of HBC love God and strive to love people. We take seriously meeting together because participation in the local Church should feel like a welcome hug from a dear friend. The New Testament encourages and expects Christians to be committed one to another in a local Church. It is a special means of grace from God where believers are built up in their faith and provide evidence to the world of Christ in their hearts by their actions..

The Church is where we can behold Jesus Christ, and lean on each other as we serve Him in the community and the world!

We behold Jesus:

Through His Word, the Bible. The Word says that “faith comes from hearing’, so we are committed to a steady diet of Biblical expositional preaching and Bible Study;
Through participation in gathered worship and prayer;
Through close loving fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ, and observing how Christ is working in them;
Through serving Him by sharing the Gospel, and showing compassion by helping others with basic needs. By joining God in His work, we get to spend time with Him, and we are changed!
